Art was a four-time NFL All-Pro First Team selection and was named to five consecutive NFL Pro Bowls (1953-1957). Not only an extremely efficient and effective player on the field, Donovan’s infectious laugh and good spirits as well as his passion for the game made him one of the most well liked players in the league and the a tremendous morale booster in the clubhouse. Donovan joined an extraordinary defensive line that included fellow Hall of Famer Gino Marchetti and All-Pros Don Joyce and Gene Lipscomb that led the Colts to back-to-back NFL League Championships in 19. He played with three different teams – Baltimore Colts (1950), New York Yanks (1951), Dallas Texans (1952) - in his first three seasons before finding his place with the “new” Baltimore Colts and developing into one of the greatest defensive tackle in the history of the game.
